Negociating to get my three irish fellows to this summit was not easy for me: I even had to enjoy a cold Mont Blanc beer and a sandwich at the beautiful Lac Blanc after the rocky traverse ridge "Les Crochues".
Anyway, they finally couldn't resist and we went to Italy on thursday to attempt this 4061 meters summit on friday!
The "Vittorio Emanuele II" hut and the places around are so nice that they almost tried to convince me not to go higher!
But with a beautiful full moon above the mountains, we obviously had to be braves and turn the headlamps on.
The ascent was regular and enjoyable. This three new irish mountaineers have done it perfectly and we could reach the summit early in the morning.
After some pics with Maria Immaculata at the top, my three buddys decided to become funny and to make me jokes. And if throwing away my ice-axe or jumping into a crevasse is a test to my sense of humour, I guess I was successful!
We celebrated it at the Cap Horn restaurant in Chamonix, and both this wonderful week together and the Mouton-Cadet wine gave us a perfect smile on that night...
