This winter is weird and the weather forecast on this saturday was as usually : uncertain, complicated, snowy, with a very high risk of avalanches...
But Linda and Graeme and their friends Heidi and Rob have such a nice motivation to be outside on the skis that they are happy to be on any plan !
So let's go to the Chalets de la Loriaz, above Vallorcine, a nice ski tour quite preserved from the risks of avalanches.
In the morning, we have to use a B plan to reach Vallorcine as the road is closed. No worries, we take a coffee and wait for the train !
Skiing up in the forest is so pretty and so quiet...
The trees are leaning with the weight of their snow load.
We try to avoid the sprays of fresh snow coming down from their branches. It's all about timing !
But the most beautiful present of the day was when we arrived above the forest... Right at that time, the clouds went away very fast and we had a beautiful landscape made of powder everywere and blue sky...
Before going down, we enjoyed a lunch at the refuge de la Loriaz and a nice blueberry pie.
And then, when skiing down, we had a lot of deep fresh snow in the trees and it was almost impossible not to get burried.
A good opportunity to laugh and laugh again !
